Motivational speaker and Pakistan’s goodwill ambassador for UN Women Muniba Mazari walked on her feet with the help of robotic support for the first time in 10 years.
She tweeted pictures and a video of her standing and walking. In 2007, Mazari, then 21 years old, suffered a car accident that gave her multiple injuries. Her spinal cord was affected. The accident left her lower body paralyzed and she used a wheelchair since then.
She can now walk with the help of ReWalk robotics. “ReWalk is a wearable robotic exoskeleton that provides powered hip and knee motion to enable individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) to stand upright, walk, turn, and climb and descend stairs,” says ReWalk on its website.
