Lahore (Web Desk) PTI chief Imran Khan on Wednesday admitted that some of his party workers opted to contest as independent candidates after the leadership’s move to refuse them party tickets.
Addressing an election rally in Lahore, the PTI chief said that some party workers have opted to contest as independent candidates after being refused party tickets, adding that they have both harmed the party and their own political standing through this move.
“Those party workers who are now contesting as independent candidates, my message to you is that, you are harming both your party and your own political standing,” said Imran Khan
Lambasting his political opponents, the PTI chief said that the outgoing PML-N government left an empty kitty despite boasting about “breaking the begging bowl”.
About PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif’s apprehensions about rigging in July 25 polls, the PTI chief said that he thanks God that Shehbaz too has realised the importance of free and fair elections.
“Thank God Shehbaz you realised the importance of transparent polls despite winning all elections through rigging in the past,” said Imran Khan.
Imran Khan urged people of Lahore to vote for PTI to get rid of the traditional politicians who are “looting the country since ages”.
