Lahore (Web Desk) The Labour Day also known as May Day is being observed today (Wednesday) around the world to express solidarity and honour the rights of the labour class.
Special rallies, publications, television programs, and seminars have been scheduled to express solidarity and honour their works. Rallies would be taken out in various parts of provincial capital by different students and political parties.
The purpose of celebrating this day is to initiate steps for providing job protection to labourers and industrial workers against any exploitation.
Radio Pakistan has also arranged special programs to create awareness about workers’ rights and to highlight the dignity in hard work.
All public and private educational institutions, markets, and other organizations would remain closed in connection with May Day, which was declared a public holiday.
The Punjab Home Department also directed the concerned departments to provide foolproof security to the participants of rallies and walks on Labour Day.
